HOW ARE THE LEAGUES CONSTRUCTED?

We take great pride in providing the best possible experience for all of our participants. Players are evaluated by age, experience, ability, skill, and recommendation by the player’s previous Manager. Birmingham Little League has five Divisions:

Majors:  4-5 years of experience, typically 11 & 12 year olds

Association: 3 years of experience, typically 10 year olds

Minors: 2 years of experience, typically 9 year olds. You must receive an invitation by the league to tryout as an 8 year old for the Minor Division

Coach Pitch:  6, 7 or 8 year olds or Must have one year exp in T-Ball

Tee Ball: Entry Level in the Little League 5 & 6 year olds

ARE AGE GROUPS THE BEST WAY TO DETERMINE ABILITY?

No. Since every player who signs up plays and we mean plays, sometimes certain adjustments within divisions will be made.  We can’t guarantee that all players will play with their school friends. We believe in providing a meaningful experience for everyone who registers. As an organization, we make it a point to never have a player participate in a division where their age or grade is more than one year than typical for that league.

About Us

Birmingham Little League is a part of Michigan District 4.

The Birmingham Little League is proud to support "The Miracle League," a charitable organization that provides children with mental and/or physical challenges an opportunity to play baseball as a team member in an organized league. There is something about playing the game of baseball that lights up youngsters’ eyes, but for children facing physical and mental challenges, that opportunity can often be a difficult first step. The Miracle League gives these children the opportunity to get out in the sunshine, and enjoy playing the game of baseball in its purest form.
